The major areas of study (computational, environmental, medicinal, polymer and water chemistry) all with a research component are tailored to prepare students for numerous career opportunities in chemistry and beyond
Carreer
During the attachment period, students will be exposed to real life work processes and are presented the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and learning to practice in a chemistry-based work environment. Industrial attachment consists of continuous assessment (CUHCHE3301) and Industrial attachment report (CUHCHE3302). The industrial attachment (at least 8 months) enhances students’ interpersonal and communication skills, human relations and work attitudes and gives students an appreciation of the constraints of working life and functional relationships within and between organisations. It will also develop student confidence in a chemistry-based working environment and improve student employability through an opportunity to have an experience of the working environment.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Normal Entry
A pass in ‘A’ Level Chemistry and in any one of the following Advanced Level subjects:
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Computer Science
- Biology
- Physical Science
- Or their recognised equivalent and
At least 5 passes at Ordinary Level inclusive of Mathematics and English
Master of Philosophy in Physics..
