Chinhoyi University of Technology Centre For Development Studies

Welcome Massage from the Chairperson

Centre for Development Studies (CDS) is a response to an ever evolving socio-political context in which the need for research remains critical. Zimbabwe faces increasing challenges from persistent droughts, climate change, poverty and disease. These challenges are entrenching gender and class cleavages already existent within the country’s social systems. The Institute, however, believes that through sustained research, programming and capacity building of communities, the country can provide a holistic response to these challenges. The CDS is thus well placed to play an integral part in providing a centre of excellence which produces innovative and life changing ideas that improve quality of life for all Zimbabweans.
