NOTICE TO ALL ACCEPTED LEVEL 1.1 STUDENTS FOR THE AUGUST INTAKE

ALL STUDENTS WHO WERE ACCEPTED FOR THE AUGUST 2020 INTAKE ARE REQUIRED TO PAY RTGS 2 000.00 BEFORE THE 30TH OF APRIL 2020. THE BALANCE OF THE FEES TO BE PAID BY THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE SEMESTER (RECEIPTS OR DEPOSIT SLIP TO BE SENT TO INFO@GSU.AC.ZW). REGISTRATION AND ORIENTATION WILL RUN FROM 12 AUGUST TO 14 AUGUST 2020 FOR CONVENTIONAL (FULL-TIME) STUDENTS AND 20 AUGUST 2020 FOR BLOCK RELEASE (WEEKEND CLASS) STUDENTS. LECTURES WILL BEGIN ON 17 AUGUST 2020 FOR CONVENTIONAL STUDENTS AND 21 AUGUST 2020 FOR BLOCK RELEASE.

PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

We are still accepting applications for the following Undergraduate Conventional and Block-Release (Weekend Class) Degree Programmes:

Normal Entry:

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND THE ENVIRONMENT
DEGREE PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree in– Mining Engineering 5‘O’ Level passes at Grade C or better including Mathematics and English Language. 2 ‘A’ Level passes in Physics and any one of the following; Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Technical Graphics, Design Technology.
–   Metallurgical Engineering 5‘O’ Level passes at Grade C or better including Mathematics and English Language.A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one of the following; Mathematics, Physics, Geography.
–   Geomatics and Surveying 5‘O’ Level passes at Grade C or better including Mathematics and English Language.A’ Level passes in Physics and Mathematics.
FACULTY OF LIFE SCIENCES
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in:–        Animal Science 5‘O’ Level passes at Grade C or better including Mathematics and English Language.2 ‘A’ Level passes in Agriculture or Biology and any one of the following; Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Biology, Computer Science.
–        Crop Science 5‘O’ Level passes at Grade C or better including Mathematics and English Language.2 ‘A’ Level passes in Agriculture or Biology and any one of the following; Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Biology, Computer Science.

Special Entry:

A person who has obtained a Diploma in Metallurgy or Minerals Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of two years post qualification experience.

Students who apply for admission under this regulation may be required to attend interviews and/or special tests at the University to determine their suitability for admission to the Bachelor’s degree studies.

Mature Entry (For every Degree Programme mentioned above)

Persons who are at least 25 years of age on the first day of the academic year in which admission is sought and who are not eligible for entry under the Normal or Special Entry Regulations may apply for Mature Entry provided that;

Applicants must have passed at least 5 approved “O” level subjects including English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent) and must have demonstrated potential suitability for university studies by their attainments and/or relevant work experience.

Normally, applicants should have completed their full-time school or college education at least five years before the start of the academic year in which admission is sought.

Students who apply for admission under this regulation may be required to attend interviews and/or special tests at the University to determine their suitability for admission to the Bachelor’s degree studies.

Applicants may download our application form from the university website www.gsu.ac.zw, and email the completed scanned form and certificates to admissions@gsu.ac.zw or info@gsu.ac.zw. Applicants are required to pay ZW $50.00 application fee and attach proof of payment. Application fees can be paid through the University Ecocash merchant code *151*2*2*156125*50# (confirmation code to be written of the first page of the application form). REGISTRATION PROCESS:
1. STUDENTS PAY AT LEAST $ZWL2,500.
2. DOWNLOAD REGISTRATION FORM FROM THE UNIVERSITY WEBSITE www.gsu.ac.zw AND EMAIL COMPLETED FORM TO admissions@gsu.ac.zw ALONG WITH PROOF OF PAYMENT
PLEASE NOTE THAT LECTURERS WILL NOT ACCEPT ASSIGNMENTS FROM UNREGISTERED STUDENTS AS FROM MAY 2020.

NB: THE UNIVERSITY HAS FULLY ADOPTED ONLINE TEACHING AND LEARNING HENCE STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO COMPLY WITH ALL THE REQUIREMENTS.
