​​​Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology​​

The UJ Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology is located within the Faculty of Health Sciences. The Department plays an important role in the training of Allied Health professionals registered in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Human Anatomy and Physiology is the study of the structure and function of the human body. The department also offers students with a background in Human Anatomy or Human Physiology the opportunity to register for the Master of Health Sciences (Anatomy/Physiology) and a PhD in Health Science (Anatomy/Physiology) programs. This is an exciting next step for the Department that will see it align with the research objectives of the Faculty and the University. The Department is currently a service department that offers relevant, course-specific subjects in Biology, Anatomy, Physiology and a combination thereof to first, second and year students studying in the following areas:
