The School of Languages and Communication Studies (Langcom) endeavours to fulfil the educational, economic and social needs of the Province (Limpopo) and the country (South Africa) while at the same time endeavouring to meet international demands as far as the communicative and linguistic environment is concerned.
Currently, Langcom consists of three Departments, namely, the Departments of Languages; Communication, Media and Information Studies; as well as Translation Studies and Linguistics. These Departments are located in New-K Building (on the first, second, sixth and seventh floors) while the Office of the Director of the School is on the seventh floor of the same building.
At the School of Languages and Communication Studies we train thinkers, doers and creative people. Our educational programmes provide for a diversity of work related situations and our tutorials and field trips give you practical insight into the different fields of study. Our graduate students are life-long learners and able people who can cope in various positions in the job market; they also turn out to be the leaders in their communities.
