ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP

Anglo American Learnerships are available to students who wish to acquire practical training and qualification to become a:

Diesel Mechanic
Electrician
Fitter
Instrumentation Mechanician
Plater

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

South African citizen
Completed Matric
Passed Mathematics and Physical Science in Matric OR completed an N2 Technical qualification with the following subjects:
- Diesel Mechanic: Diesel Trade Theory, Engineering Drawings, Engineering Science, Mathematics
- Electrician: Engineering Science, Electrical Theory, Industrial Electronics, Mathematics
- Fitter: Engineering Drawing, Engineering Science, Fitting & Machining Trade Theory, Mathematics
- Instrumentation Mechanician: Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, Instrument Trade Theory, Mathematics
- Plater: Engineering Science, Platers Theory, Plating & Structural Drawing, Mathematics
Good knowledge of Safety Systems, Regulations and Standards
Excellent safety record and regard for safety
In possession of a K53 provincial drivers license
Experience in the Mining Sector (advantageous but not essential)
Able to identify faults independently
Able to cope under pressure
Motivated and ambitious
Innovative
Willing to work shifts, call outs and on standby if required
Able to obtain a certificate of fitness
Prepared to undergo psychometric assessments
