This degree programme is designed to emphasise on problem areas in conservation and management of the environment. The role of technology in this curriculum emphasises on solving problems concerning human use, control and management of the environment so that students can be knowledgeable on policy initiatives and issues pertaining to environmental science.

Graduates can be employed in the private and public sectors in areas such as natural resources management, pollution prevention and control, air and water quality monitoring and management, environmental consultancy for engineering, geography, biology, ecology, political science, sociology, chemistry, hydrology, land use and planning, mining.

In addition students will be equipped with entrepreneurial skill, occupational health and safety, sanitation and disaster management skills.

Normal Entry

To register for BSc (Honours) in Environmental Science and Technology programme, a candidate must satisfy the usual entry requirements as specified in General Regulations of Chinhoyi University of Technology. Passes in Two Advanced level subjects chosen from the following: Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Agriculture, Physics and Geography. Passes at C or better in at least five O-level subjects including English Language and Mathematics is a compulsory requirement for admission into this programme.
