Our research and teaching strengths include:

• GIS and satellite remote sensing
• Environmental management ​
• Urban studies: housing, education
• Energy issues
• Tourism Geography

For the 2017 academic year, the department had 145 first-year students, 134 second-year students, 152 third-year students and close to 100 postgraduate students.
Students mostly come from the faculties of Science, Humanities, Management and Education.
