Who is the Department of Biostatistics?

The University of Free State (UFS) Department of Biostatistics promotes research in the Faculty of Health Sciences by providing a biostatistical consultation service and teaching research methods and biostatistics.
 
Objectives

• To offer a professional biostatistical consultation service to staff and students of the faculty, regarding the planning and design of research projects and the analysis and interpretation of data.
• To contribute actively towards the publication of research in accredited journals.
• To present relevant courses in research methodology and biostatistics to undergraduate students, postgraduate students and staff.
• To do research in the field of biostatistics.

Lectures

Our department offers lectures on research methodology to students and personnel of the faculty. We are also happy to discuss special requests from departments for ad hoc lectures or discussions.
