ADMISSION BY NORMAL ENTRY INTO UNDERGRADUATE CONVENTIONAL ENTRY DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2019/2020 ACADEMIC YEAR

  • Applications are invited from candidates who meet the requirements for entry into Part I (First Year) of the Undergraduate Conventional Degree Programmes for the 2019/2020 Academic Year.

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Bachelor Of Engineering Honours Degree In Mining Engineering

5 ‘O’ Levels passes at grade C or better including English Language and Mathematics

2 ‘A’ Level passes in Physics and in any one of the following; Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, Technical Graphics, Biology.

A Diploma in Mining or equivalent.

Bachelor Of Engineering Honours Degree In Metallurgical Engineering

5 ‘O’ Levels passes at grade C or better including English Language and Mathematics

2 ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and in any one of the following; Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Technical Graphics, Biology.

A Diploma in Metallurgical or equivalent.

Bachelor Of Engineering Honours Degree In Geomatics And Surveying

 5 ‘O’ Levels passes at grade C or better including English Language and Mathematics

2 ‘A’ Level passes in Physics and in any one of the following; Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, Technical Graphics, Biology, Engineering Drawing, Computer Science.

A Diploma in Geomatics and Surveying or equivalent.

FACULTY OF LIFE SCIENCE

Bachelor Of Science Honours Degree in Animal Science

 5 ‘O’ Levels passes at grade C or better including English Language and Mathematics

2 ‘A’ Level passes in Agriculture or Biology and in any one of the following; Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Biology, Computer Science.

Bachelor Of Science Honours Degree in Crop Science

 5 ‘O’ Levels passes at grade C or better including English Language and Mathematics

2 ‘A’ Level passes in Agriculture or Biology and in any one of the following; Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Biology, Computer Science.

 

A Diploma in Crop Science.

Or

Higher National Diploma in Crop Science

 

For admission into the Programmes, applicants must be able to accept the following entry conditions:

  • They should be able to pay full tuition fees for their education. The fees, per Semester for the Degree Programmes in the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment are $565, and the Faculty of Life Sciences are $565.
  • Successful applicants would be required to pay accommodation fees of $200 as it is available on campus.
  • For the meals students are required to $365 per semester.

The following information applies to applicants to the Conventional Programmes:

  1. Applicants should have passed at least 5 subjects at ‘O’ Level at Grade C or better. These should include Mathematics and English Language.
  2. Only candidates who already have ‘A’ Levels will be considered. Proof of both ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level results should be attached.
  3. A non-refundable application fee of $20, must accompany the Application Form.
  4. The closing date for the receipt of completed Application Forms is Friday, 02 March, 2018.
  5. Late applications will be considered up to Friday, 30 March, 2018 and will attract an additional fee of $10, making the application fee for late registration to be $30.
  6. Candidates with a National Diploma or a Higher National Diploma (HEXCO) or other relevant Diplomas and 5 ‘O’ Level passes at Grade ‘C’ or better including English Language and Mathematics will be considered under Special Entry.

  • Forms can also be collected personally from the NUST Harare Office, ZIMDEF House, 18572 Off Mother Patricks Avenue, Rotten Row, Harare (Next to Magistrate Court), on proof of qualifications. The Application Form can also be downloaded below.
  • Please note that ALL HARARE APPLICANTS are required to deposit their application fees of $20.00 to the following bank; CBZ : No. 01224790080012, Branch 8th Ave & Jason Moyo, Bulawayo, before collecting the Applications Forms from the NUST Harare Office.
