ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent with an endorsement certifying that you are eligible for Diploma Studies at a Tertiary Institution.
  • Fluent in English
  • Has to attend a personal interview session

EXCEPTIONS

  • A Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate in a cognate field will also be considered for admission.
  • Applicants from foreign countries are required to have their qualifications verified by the South-African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

  • Apply Professional Ethics in client interventions.
  • Apply communication skills to provide effective health and skincare treatments.
  • Apply knowledge of microbiology, anatomy, physiology, physics, and chemistry during all client interventions.
  • Apply knowledge of nutrition, body alignment and movement in client care.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate health and skincare treatments relating to face and body based on a holistic assessment of the client.
  • Perform Holistic Massage
  • Management Skills
  • Provide health and skincare to the border community

MODE OF INSTRUCTION
Class contact sessions combined with work-integrated learning opportunities to combine theory and real-world practice.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

PURPOSE

This qualification will enable the qualifying student to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team as a multi-skilled Health and Skincare Practitioner.
The student will be skilled in visual, tactile, verbal and assessment skills to ascertain the client’s body and integumentary needs, in order to analyse the client’s state of health and formulate a specific or protocol for the treatment.
The main focus is to provide and promote effective skin and body care treatments.
