ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
A National Senior Certificate (NSC) from the South African Matriculation Board with an endorsement from the board certifying that you are eligible for Diploma study at a tertiary institution is required.
Preference will be given to students who have achieved a Matric endorsement with an Admission Point Score (APS) in excess of 24 (twenty-four).
The point rating for the 6 subjects required for the NSC excluding Life Orientation will be used in calculating the APS. The APS is calculated as a sum of the 6 point rating with no one subject weighted more than any other.
In addition, preference will be given to students with Life Science up to grade 12. To assist those who haven’t selected Life Sciences as a subject through to Grade 12 or achieved an average below 50% in the NSC – a compulsory bridging programme during the first year of study has been developed (Additional costs apply).
Exceptions
A Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate in a Cognate field will also be considered.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
A three-year Diploma in Somatology (NQF Level 6, 360 credits) or equivalent qualification in a related field.

NOTE: Entry into the Advanced Diploma of Dermal Aesthetics is not automatic. A limited number of students will be accepted and selection will be on the basis of academic performance. Industry experience will be an added advantage.

MODE OF INSTRUCTION
The Advanced Diploma in Dermal Aesthetics is a distance learning programme enabling the student to continue their employment while completing his/her qualification. In order to support the student in acquiring the necessary advanced skills, the programme will include various learning opportunities:
Online / On-Campus contact sessions:
Students will be able to take part in the session either via live streaming or on-site at one of the two campuses. These contact sessions will vary, depending on the specific subject with 6 x 2-hour contact sessions per subject per academic year. Sessions will be presented one evening a week from 18:00-20:00 after which they will be uploaded to Moodle where students can access the lesson at a later stage if they were unable to attend the session or require a repeat session.
On-campus block sessions:
Three practical on-campus block sessions which will consist of a maximum of 5 days at a time will be hosted at the Stellenbosch and Pretoria campuses. The student should commit to attending these sessions as it is compulsory for the student to attend these sessions which consist of practical training and interactive sessions.
Independent study:
With the aid of study guides and carefully developed assignments and class tests, the student will be guided through the course in order to prepare them for the summative examinations.
